Zama Dube – The Witch's Flight: Afro Tech and GQOM Special
Friday March 20, 2026
09:00 PM to 11:00 PM

The Witch’s Flight is guided by the question; “What does freedom SOUND like?” Taking heed to this, amapiano becomes a portal and a sonic guide to diverse freedom dreams. The Witch’s Flight is the quest for a Black feminist sensibility structured in a series of sonic experimentations that center South Africa and the larger African diaspora.
For this episode of The Witch’s Flight, I’ll be curating a two-hour live mix of Afro tech, house, and GQOM.
It’s a bit of a sonic deviation from my usual amapiano sets—this one will move at a higher BPM, leaning into more uptempo drums, techno textures, and driving rhythms.
The energy is meant to be expansive and embodied—music that invites movement, release, and a collective exhale. I’m also extending a small open invitation: if anyone from the community would like to bring a few friends by the studio, I’d love that. Think drinks, music, dance, and communion—a moment of pause and pleasure together in the midst of so much global heaviness.
