Darone Sassounian is on a never-ending search for fresh sounds. Pulling records from his collection and from recent digs, he aspires to share music that moves him and others. Whether you’re on the dancefloor or anywhere else in the world, Darone’s knowledge on music combined with his technical ability approaches a contemporary audience, by clashing the old with the new. Styles ranging from disco, soul, jazz, international obscurities, house, and more. You can find him each month here on dublab.

On today’s edition of the show, Darone invites Track Advisor. Born and raised in Tunis and now based in Paris, Track Advisor wears multiple hats as a DJ, promoter, label co-founder, and writer whose work revolves around storytelling and cultural exploration. Having his roots suspended between the Mediterranean’s restless tides and North Africa’s enduring heritage, Track Advisor’s sound summons ancient rhythms and merges them with the present moment, opening a liminal space where worlds and cultures meet on the dancefloor.

His quest for the sacred knowledge that fuels the dancefloor has taken shape through a constellation of roles that flow into one another. He is a resident of Radio Alhara and the visionary behind The Calling, a radio show on loose.fm and a conceptual project through which he bridges global creative communities. Through it, he curates eclectic gatherings such as Syndicate of Love (Tunisia), Pleasuredome (Paris), and Disco Tehran’s European chapters, where he also serves as resident and manager. Beyond the dancefloor, he co-founded Eddisco Records, Tunisia’s only record store and one of its rare independent labels, and is the exclusive writer for legends like Chez Damier and Scan 7.
